In reply to Lord Crewe's Circular

Despatch of the 5th. of last November, have the honour

to forward the enclosed copy of a letter, dated the 11th.

of last April, which I addressed to the Chairman of the

Council of the Festival of Empire, together with a letter

from the Hongkong General Chamber of Commerce, dated the

8th. idem.

Upon the receipt of Lord Crewe's

Circular I caused the matter to be again brought before

the Chamber of Commerce, and I have received in reply the

enclosed letter, dated the 22nd. ultimo, suggesting that the

Hongkong Exhibit at present lodged with the Imperial

Institute should be bodily transferred to the proposed

Exhibition. If you agree with this recommendation I shall
